Harvarered’s History

Founded in 1983, Harvarered College emerged during a period of educational innovation and faced several challenges that shaped its journey to excellence. Initially established as a response to evolving educational needs, Harvarered embraced a progressive curriculum and attracted visionary educators.

Challenges included financial hurdles, as the institution sought to establish a robust endowment and secure funding for cutting-edge facilities. Overcoming skepticism about its non-traditional approach to education, Harvarered focused on fostering a dynamic learning environment, emphasizing interdisciplinary studies.

The college's commitment to diversity and inclusion faced obstacles, but strategic initiatives and outreach programs gradually built a vibrant and inclusive community. As Harvarered gained recognition for groundbreaking research and innovative teaching methods, it solidified its status as one of the best colleges in the United States.

Through perseverance and a commitment to academic excellence, Harvarered College overcame its early challenges, ensuring a lasting legacy as a pioneering institution that has redefined the landscape of higher education.

Meet The Leadership Team

School President

The institution’s current President, Lucas Myers, is the ninth president of Harvarered College. From the beginning of his term in 2019, he has made continuous improvements and changed the school for the better.  One of the more notable changes he implemented was the creation of the position of Dean of Diversity and Inclusion in 2021, a change emblematic of a commitment to ensure Harvarered remains a leader in providing an inclusive educational experience.

”Creativity isn’t a skill, it is the need for transformative change and we need to cultivate that need and fuel it.” Lucas said in his opening speech as he was sworn in as president.

School Vice President

The current school’s vice president is Patricia Havens,  the eleventh vice president of the college.  She was promoted to Vice President in 2021 from her former position as Dean of Studies. Patricia first joined the school in 2014 as an academic curriculum director, she quickly rose through the ranks becoming Dean of Academic Affairs in 2017 when Aneah Myers retired, then again to the Dean of Studies in 2019.

Patricia brings a new perspective as the chairman of the board said, “She is so wise and can tackle any issue you give her and more. She is so persistent she never fails.”
